Landanski
Surprisingly, Landanski is entirely self-taught. His passion and interest in the female form has derived from observation of ballet movement and fashion, often helped by life models adopting a series of classic poses from which his interpretation can evolve. Over the years he has collated a large photographic library depicting some of ballets most beautiful movements.
Traditionally Landanski works in wax having first built an armature or support for the material. He then layers the wax and crafts it into the required shape using a selection of tools made specifically for the task.
It is his imagination and creativity which then extends the reference he is using into the wonderfully free and dynamic sculpt. His work is highly prized by collectors who marvel at the style and skill he portrays in his flowing forms.
