Grace Ellen is a self-taught emerging British artist. Inspired by her great love of the outdoors she began capturing the world around her from a young age.
Growing up in Surrey and choosing to live and work in the UK, Grace feels a strong connection with the British landscape, admiring the diversity and changing weather conditions it offers. She finds endless inspiration from right outside her doorstep in Hampshire, to the furthest reaches of Land’s End in Cornwall.
Grace’s studies in Animal Behaviour and Ecology at the University of Exeter gave her a deeper understanding of her subject. Grace is passionate about conservation and protecting wildlife for future generations, hoping to inspire this interest in others through her art. After her degree in Devon, Grace studied at the University of Creative Arts in Epsom, creating a body of work which was largely photographic. Her skill in photography is a key part of her painting practice, informing her composition choices and eye for detail. For Grace, exploring and walking to find the perfect viewpoint is one of the most rewarding parts of painting.
Grace Ellen now works both on site and in her studio in Hampshire. Painting with acrylics, oils and mixed media and enjoys experimenting with the materials to create work that is full of life and a celebration of her experiences.
