Heinz Scholnhammer was born in 1940 in Vienna. Following his artistic studies, he travelled extensively through Austria, Germany and the Netherlands before finally settling in Italy. Heinz continues to live and work in Italy where he gains much of his inspiration. He is valued by connoisseurs as among the most popular painters of classical art.
In recent years Heinz has become ever more engaged in new realism (hyper realism). This impressive style sets his work apart from the rest and has been well received by collectors worldwide.
The characteristic use of colour in his paintings is complemented by his accomplished mastery of light and shade. This is aided by the hues creating a softness and giving his paintings a unique feeling. The yearning after a harmonic world has become somewhat a leitmotif and ambition of the artist.
Heinz Scholnhammer focuses on the beautiful, a continuous challenge that engulfs his life and work. The theme of his artwork is consistently the attempt to compare the figurative with the untouchable and wide field of a romantic atmosphere. As such his representational art can be regarded as a parable of the interplay of spirit and matter.
