Born in the Seychelles in 1965 Harry Brioche enjoyed a bright childhood growing up on the island of Mahe. It wasn’t until 1980 that the artist moved to England and settled in Manchester with his now wife and two children.
Harry considers himself a self-taught artist despite attending Maidstone College of Art. Following an ultimatum by his college lecturers to conform with the institution’s style and methods of painting or leave, he ultimately decided to go it alone. Harry went on to carve out a highly successful career as an illustrator and graphic designer with his company for much of his early professional life.
From an early age Harry was captivated by the drama and beauty of the atmospheric and ever changing British sky and landscape. The often fleeting weather experienced in England was in sharp contrast to that of the Seychelles. This inspiration at such an early age was and continues to be ever present in his paintings. The artist’s main objective is to capture the atmosphere and spirit of a place. Ultimately, it is the mood and light within the painting that becomes the central theme.
Harry’s work is regularly exhibited at the Mall Gallery in London through the NEAC, ROI and the RBA annual exhibitions. He has a full calendar of national and international exhibitions and shows planned for the forthcoming year.
With a commitment and passion to produce emotive works of brilliant quality, Harry continues to showcase his talent effortlessly. His original oil paintings now hang in private and corporate collections around the world.
We are delighted to have Harry Brioche on board here at Forest Gallery and have his work showcased both online and in the gallery.
