FINANCE OPTIONS
At Forest Gallery we believe in making art more accessible and affordable. That is why we have partnered with Own Art to provide 0% interest free finance to help spread the cost of purchasing art you love.
What is Own Art?
Own Art is a national initiative that makes buying contemporary art and craft affordable by letting you spread the cost of your purchase over 10 months with an interest-free loan. The scheme supports the UK’s creative economy by encouraging increased sales of work by living artists.
Who runs Own Art?
Own Art is a Creative United programme run in partnership with Arts Council England, the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and Creative Scotland. Creative United is a registered trademark of Creative Sector Services CIC, a Community Interest Company, in partnership with our credit provider Novuna Consumer Finance.
How is it 0% interest and how do I apply?
Government backed funding from Arts Council England, Creative Scotland and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland subsidises the cost of financing to support living artists and encourage sales. We guide you through the application process. To begin, please place your order choosing Own Art at checkout and we will get in touch.
What is the minimum and maximum amount I can buy?
Own Art is available from £100 – £2,500. Credit can go towards the payment of an artwork(s) that costs over £2,500, provided you can cover the remaining balance in cash or with a credit or debit card. The scheme is available for purchases of original works of art and prints up to editions of 150.
Can I include the cost of delivery and/or framing in the loan?
If Forest Gallery is arranging additional services for you such as framing or delivery you can choose to include these charges as part of your Own Art loan.
Can I use the scheme more than once?
Yes, there is no limit to the number of times that you can use the scheme. However, you will normally have to allow at least 4 months between loan applications in order to establish a repayment record with the finance company.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No deposit is necessary when applying for Own Art, although you can pay a deposit if you wish.
When will I need to make my first payment?
Your first payment will normally be debited from your account around 4 weeks after the date on which you signed the agreement. You will receive an email confirming the date.
Can I change the date of my monthly direct debit?
Yes. This is possible if you contact Novuna Consumer Finance directly, once your first payment has gone through.
Are there any charges if I decide to pay off the loan early?
No. Own Art loans do not have early redemption charges. If you would like to pay off the loan, you can contact Novuna Consumer Finance to do so at any time.
What if I am refused finance?
As an alternative to spreading the cost with interest free credit we offer an artwork reserve scheme. A direct debit is set up with our provider GoCardless and you can split the cost of your purchase for up to 12 months. Please note that your artwork will only be delivered upon payment of the final instalment.
