A unique creative explosion, Swimmers are the brainchild of Ruben Abstract. Each Swimmer portrays the artist’s pursuit of chasing dreams in a fun eye-catching original style where he is the one who dares to swim against the grain. Three dimensional, colourful and above all happy, these wonderful paintings are full of life and sentiment.

Swimmers 010 is set against gorgeous orange hues reminiscent of a sunset over the Caribbean. This is an original painting created using enamel, resin and 100% recycled textiles on panel, mounted onto a beautiful natural wood frame, signed on the side and ready to display in all its glory.

Ruben Abstract is a Canarian-born artist from 1975, began painting the Swimmers series in 2019, driven by his passion for triathlons. He recognised that the swimmer going against the current symbolised his journey, embodying the purpose for which he came into this life, unshaken by the opinions of others crossing his path in ‘the sea of life’.

By 2022, Rubén had reached a point of less inner struggle, solidifying his career as a professional artist. He embarked on a 19-month exploration of how to create perfectly defined silhouettes that would merge seamlessly using pigmented epoxy resin. During this period of personal joy and vibrancy, Rubén wanted to incorporate more colour into his works. Soon, it became clear that the layers of resin and colour were not only an aesthetic choice but also a more profound representation of life’s journey.

These resin layers in his works symbolise the experiences and events that shape us as individuals, making us unique and extraordinary. This series, in which overlapping colours and shapes merge into one harmonious and striking artwork has come to be known as the Underwater series.

Now based in Madrid, where his studio is located in the heart of the city, Rubén draws inspiration from the energy of the capital. A passionate runner, he can often be seen jogging through the streets, connecting with the vibrant spirit that fuels his artistic creations.

Rubén’s artwork can be shipped internationally from the UK. As Rubén Abstract’s exclusive UK agent, we can also help to arrange special commissions from either the Underwater or Swimmers series. UK DELIVERY
Free insured delivery via courier is available for all purchases over £250. We aim to deliver artworks within 5 working days unless framing is required (in which case 10-14 days). If your order is urgent please specify this and we will endeavour to meet your requirements. Delivery times are an estimate and we will keep you informed if this delivery window is likely to be exceeded.

You will receive confirmation of your order and tracking details once delivery has been booked. If you wish to receive your artwork on a certain day, please specify this in the order notes when checking out.

Please note that some large artworks under glass may require a specialist courier and are therefore excluded from the free delivery offer. In such instances we will contact you prior to arranging delivery and you will have the option to confirm your order. Saturday delivery and express delivery is available for a small charge of £25 – please contact us to arrange this. Professional installation may be offered by quotation to some areas of the UK as well as same day express delivery. Please contact us to arrange these alternative options.

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY
We deliver artworks worldwide. For the majority of countries shipping charges will be applied automatically at checkout. If you are outside of these regions you may still purchase online and we will contact you with a competitive quotation for delivery to your country. RETURNS
For your peace of mind, we offer an extended 30 day returns option for any online purchase. We suggest you retain the original packaging if you are considering this option as we reserve the right to deduct any damage which occurs during return transit. Once we have received the return it will be checked and a refund will be issued less the return postage costs.
