Rubén Abstract is a Spanish artist and keen triathlete. His international collector base is fast growing as his works are beginning to be exhibited worldwide at important art fairs and galleries. Forest Gallery is delighted to represent Swimmers in the UK where Rubén’s colourful creations are exhibited both in our Petworth gallery as well as art fairs in London.

Rubén started painting Swimmers because he wanted to reproduce how impressive the swim start of an Ironman triathlon was for him. He wanted everyone to enjoy the pleasure of being in the sea, in transparent waters, in which you can see your shadow on the ocean floor.

Whilst beginning his journey with the Swimmers collection, Rubén wanted to paint a swimmer following its flow, being genuine without following the rest. ‘You being truly you’. This concept is embodied by one figure in each artwork swimming in the opposite direction to the others.

Follow your flow in the sea of life, he thought, fight restlessly, and make your dream come true. Choose your attitude and direction in life, and become that swimmer that goes against the grain, no matter what people expect from you, no matter what it takes. Just trust yourself, as you have never done before, and flow.

The creation of each artwork takes around a month in total due to the different materials and processes involved. Rubén begins his artworks by painting real or abstract seabeds on specially made wooden panels and then the shadows of each swimmer on top. Subsequently, he applies a resin layer over which, once the resin has fully set, he can create the swimmers using enamel paint. The final flourish which brings each artwork to life are the textiles, each as unique as the swimmer itself and sourced from different boutiques in Madrid.

UK DELIVERY
Free insured delivery via courier is available for all purchases over £250. We aim to deliver artworks within 5 working days unless framing is required (in which case 10-14 days). If your order is urgent please specify this and we will endeavour to meet your requirements. Delivery times are an estimate and we will keep you informed if this delivery window is likely to be exceeded.

You will receive confirmation of your order and tracking details once delivery has been booked. If you wish to receive your artwork on a certain day, please specify this in the order notes when checking out.

Please note that some large artworks under glass may require a specialist courier and are therefore excluded from the free delivery offer. In such instances we will contact you prior to arranging delivery and you will have the option to confirm your order. Saturday delivery and express delivery is available for a small charge of £25 – please contact us to arrange this. Professional installation may be offered by quotation to some areas of the UK as well as same day express delivery. Please contact us to arrange these alternative options.

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY
We deliver artworks worldwide. For the majority of countries shipping charges will be applied automatically at checkout. If you are outside of these regions you may still purchase online and we will contact you with a competitive quotation for delivery to your country. RETURNS
For your peace of mind, we offer an extended 30 day returns option for any online purchase. We suggest you retain the original packaging if you are considering this option as we reserve the right to deduct any damage which occurs during return transit. Once we have received the return it will be checked and a refund will be issued less the return postage costs.
