Caspar Van Houten

Caspar Van Houten

Caspar Van Houten was born in Antwerpen, Belgium in 1966 and studied Fine Art at the Academy of Modern Art in Arendonk.

After completing his education in art he began work as a painting and sculpture teacher. After some years he began work for several graphic design companies as an art-director, whilst still carrying on his passion for painting.

Over the last few years Caspar Van Houten has been working on his skills as a painter and developing his quirky style. His paintings of chickens and cockerels have attracted much interest over the past decade.  Van Houten’s use of silver leaf and free flowing lines add another dimension to his paintings.  Interestingly he mostly paints at night, when the world is asleep and all is calm and quiet.
