Chris Chapman Originals

Chris Chapman’s large acrylic paintings bring a playful, characterful eye to familiar movements and motifs from modern art. Painted on board, these originals combine homage and gentle parody, drawing on the distinctive visual languages associated with L. S. Lowry, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko.

Figures and dogs appear throughout the collection, whether gathered in parks and open landscapes or pausing to contemplate bold works of art. Chapman balances simplified forms, strong colour and illustrative detail with an understated sense of humour. Unified by their large scale and accessible wit, the paintings invite a fresh look at recognisable styles while retaining a lively narrative character of their own.
