Moon Dance, Hares (1125)

A stunning large limited edition sculpture by Michael Simpson featuring three hares in dynamic positions released Summer 2021. The base of the sculpture is cast in stainless steel giving a wonderful two-tone contrast to the bronze hares. This sculpture weighs 8kg with dimensions Height: 43cm x Width: 34cm x Depth: 28cm. Limited edition of 50.

The hares are then finished by the art of patination where various acids are applied to the surface of the bronze and heat applied to create a deep rich brown patina. The base of this design is cast in stainless steel and carefully antiqued to add a depth of colour and to bring the details of the foliage to the fore. The whole piece is then sealed with a special wax which further enhances the colour and protects the bronze for years to come.

Provided with certificate of authenticity and polishing cloth.

Michael Simpson’s sculptures cover a wide variety of subjects from animals to figurative and country pursuits.

Michael Simpson studied Fine Art at Staffordshire Polytechnic. However, his love for sculpture and inspiration came from the traditions of his home town of Stoke-on-Trent. Indeed, the famous towns forming the region have created some of the world’s finest works. The respect for the craft of the sculptor and designer is well deserved.

There are not many sculptors who can produce accurate and detailed studies covering such diverse subjects. Michael Simpson is one of the few who can achieve this goal. He works from reference books, his own drawings, photographs and observation. Like so many artists and sculptors, his studio walls are full of reference material.

Michael is also one of the few sculptors preferring to model in clay instead of wax. Indeed, he is quite content to work around its limitations and loves the freedom of working with it.

Michael’s limited edition bronze sculptures are popular with collectors. Forest Gallery has access to Michael’s full range. If there is a particular sculpture you like, which is not listed on our website. Please get in touch with us and we would be happy to help source it for you.

UK DELIVERY
Free insured delivery via courier is available for all purchases over £250. We aim to deliver artworks within 5 working days unless framing is required (in which case 10-14 days). If your order is urgent please specify this and we will endeavour to meet your requirements. Delivery times are an estimate and we will keep you informed if this delivery window is likely to be exceeded.

You will receive confirmation of your order and tracking details once delivery has been booked. If you wish to receive your artwork on a certain day, please specify this in the order notes when checking out.

Please note that some large artworks under glass may require a specialist courier and are therefore excluded from the free delivery offer. In such instances we will contact you prior to arranging delivery and you will have the option to confirm your order. Saturday delivery and express delivery is available for a small charge of £25 – please contact us to arrange this. Professional installation may be offered by quotation to some areas of the UK as well as same day express delivery. Please contact us to arrange these alternative options.

We deliver artworks worldwide. For the majority of countries shipping charges will be applied automatically at checkout. If you are outside of these regions you may still purchase online and we will contact you with a competitive quotation for delivery to your country. RETURNS
For your peace of mind, we offer an extended 30 day returns option for any online purchase. We suggest you retain the original packaging if you are considering this option as we reserve the right to deduct any damage which occurs during return transit. Once we have received the return it will be checked and a refund will be issued less the return postage costs.
