Suzie Emery
Suzie Emery was born in Bedfordshire in 1972, Suzie Emery enjoys a career in art spanning over 20 years to date. Having studied at Amersham & Wycombe College Suzie currently lives in Oxfordshire where she focuses on landscape and wildlife paintings as well as animal sculptures.
Suzie says of her work: “I have always been greatly inspired by the beauty and mystery of the natural world. I like to discover new and unusual ways to reflect this in my paintings and sculptures.
I’m drawn to many interesting places for my inspiration, especially Scotland with its stunning and beautiful landscape. I am particularly fond of the Highlands because of the breathtaking scenery and vast wilderness. I have been fortunate enough to visit and experience the overwhelming majesty of the Scottish mountains against dramatic and turbulent skies contrasted by the beautiful and tranquil serenity of the glens, rivers and lochs.
I am fascinated by ancient places that have been left undisturbed and unchanged for hundreds even thousands of years. When I walk through Glen Coe or along the Chiltern Ridgeway for instance, I always feel a strong sense of the past. For me it can be a very moving, enchanting and quite mystical experience. I like to incorporate those elements into my paintings.”
