David Alderman Sheep Paintings
David Alderman’s sheep paintings bring a playful sense of order to colourful pastoral landscapes. Bright flocks move across rolling fields, winding paths and layered hills, often watched or guided by attentive black-and-white sheepdogs. Vivid greens and yellows give the countryside warmth and energy, while snowy slopes, frozen ponds, moonlight and cooler blue tones introduce the quieter atmosphere of winter.
Painted in acrylic on board, the collection combines simplified forms with carefully balanced compositions and small narrative touches. Most works are intimate in scale, with occasional medium-sized paintings offering a broader view. Together, they capture the gentle humour, movement and changing moods of rural life, from lively meadow scenes to still water and peaceful evening landscapes.
