David Alderman Bird Paintings

David Alderman’s bird paintings bring colour, character and gentle humour to familiar feathered subjects. Lively gatherings of ducks appear in vivid blues and greens, their varied forms creating a playful sense of movement and companionship against soft, uncluttered grey backgrounds. Alongside these busier scenes, proud individual birds are portrayed with the same direct, cheerful appeal. Painted in acrylic on board, the works share a bold, naïve quality, with simplified shapes, clean settings and expressive details giving each bird its own personality. These small-scale paintings offer bright, engaging studies suited to intimate spaces and close viewing.
