Frank Lloyd
Frank Lloyd is in fact a pseudonym or pen name allowing for the more traditional landscape art of Matthew Cordwell to take on a naive contemporary look. Frank uses a bright and harmonious palette to bring life and colour to his artwork. Through exploring the depths of tone and shade within each colour he is able to add dynamism to his playful landscapes.
Frank’s stylised trees have become a signature of his artwork, often representing the focal point of the painting. Taking inspiration from the rolling countryside of the home counties and the South Downs in particular, he describes his artwork as an “abstraction of the fundamental elements” within a scene.
We are delighted to have Frank Lloyd showcasing here at Forest Gallery.
