Ana Ortiz

Ana Ortiz

Ana Ortiz is an artist from Madrid currently living and working in the UK. Ana originally graduated as a Technical Architect before completing a Master’s Degree in Building Engineering at the Europea University of Madrid. Following her teaching qualification at the Alcala de Henares University of Madrid, Ana came to England in 2012 to further her teaching experience as a Design and Technology teacher. She launched herself as a mixed media artist in 2018 with immediate accolade. Ana enjoys applying her formal training into more experimental forms of art, exploring a new freedom in contemporary materials.

“My art consists of a series of original artworks produced from experimental paint and ink techniques. Designs are based on a wide range of natural inspiration produced to transform any modern interior.”

Following a number of solo exhibitions, Ana is rapidly emerging as an international artist, gaining representation from galleries across the UK and Europe. She was proud to be featured in the 2023 book ‘What Inspires Art?’  and her work was selected for the curated display for the Pantone Colour of the Year 2024 at the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea.

Increasingly aware of the challenges now facing mankind, Ana uses her art to highlight both the beauty and fragility of our changing planet. Her work is predominantly inspired by the artists’ annual summer visits to the picturesque region of North Spain and its beautiful coastline. Her work reflects the vibrant green and turquoise colours captured in aerial viewpoints of the sea and sand, close-up details of coral and the shallow blue iridescent waters captured during her snorkelling in the cold Atlantic waters. Her more recent work has been inspired by the stunning beaches of Balearic Islands. Her long-term love affair with the sea has been recorded through her original experiments in fluid art, alcohol ink, original compositions in epoxy resin and her textured mixed media paintings combining acrylic with sand and shells from the regions.

Forest Gallery is pleased to be able to offer commissions by Ana Ortiz – perhaps you have a favourite beach that you would like to capture in a stunning original painting. It this is of interest, or you have a specific size requirement in mind please get in touch with us.
