David Henty Modigliani

This collection presents large-scale portraiture painted in oil on panel in the distinctive style of Amedeo Modigliani. The female subject is treated with the poised, simplified character associated with Modigliani’s early twentieth-century portraits, translating the appearance of a 1918 composition into a substantial decorative work. At extra-large scale, the painting has a strong presence suited to a prominent wall, while the oil medium gives depth and richness to the restrained portrait format. Presented in an ornate antique frame and ready to display, these works combine a period-inspired image with a carefully considered traditional presentation. Paintings are signed by David Henty on the reverse.
