Frank Getty
Frank Getty is an internationally renowned German artist born in 1967 in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It was during time spent in New York and London that he chose to become a professional full-time artist.
With a bold and confident technique, Frank Getty is being described as a powerful force among palette knife artists. He has built a reputation for his expressive portrayals of well-known locations including Venice and New York as well as commissions of prominent figures in society.
Frank Getty’s impressive impasto style has been commissioned by important entities such as the British Embassy (who requested a portrait of Winston Churchill). Other notable commissions include footballer Franz Beckenbauer, actress Katja Riemann and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk for the Turkish embassy to celebrate the 98th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic.
Frank Getty’s technique lends itself equally well to his sailing and coastal scenes which are a firm favourite amongst collectors. The paintings come alive from a distance, with each textural stroke almost abstract when viewing up close, from afar combine to form harmonious compositions.
We are delighted to showcase Frank Getty’s paintings at London art fairs and in our Petworth art gallery. Forest Gallery are Getty’s primary representative in the UK and are pleased to be able to offer a wide selection of his paintings to view as well as commission options – should this be of interest please get in touch.
