Sara Malfer, born in Milan, Italy, in 1978, is an accomplished Italian artist celebrated for her vibrant paintings that merge classical techniques with contemporary themes. As the daughter of the renowned painter Mario Malfer, Sara was immersed in the art world from an early age. She honed her skills at a specialised Fine Arts school before pursuing further studies at the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Brera, Milan.
Inspired by the great masters of the 19th and 20th centuries, Sara infuses her work with a personal touch, often exploring the boundary between realism and abstraction. Her compositions feature a remarkable interplay of light, shadow, and harmonious colours, creating a unique sense of depth and spaciousness.
Sara’s art often incorporates elements of 1960s and 1970s American pop culture, blending collage techniques with oil painting to produce dynamic, mosaic-like works. These pieces frequently juxtapose playful imagery, such as iconic pop figures and comic characters, with urban and natural backdrops, creating a striking visual dialogue.
Over the years, Sara has exhibited her work in numerous successful shows across Italian and German cities. Despite her youth, she has established herself as a significant figure in the post-impressionist movement. Her work has gained recognition for its innovative approach, bridging classical influences with modern aesthetics.
Sara currently resides and works near Lake Garda, where she shares a studio with her father. Together, they continue to push artistic boundaries while honouring their shared passion for creativity.
