Paul Wright has spent the past 15 years developing a painterly language through which he seeks to capture the essence of movement. For Paul, it is a fleeting moment that instils the greatest degree of emotion and connectivity with a subject rather than a detailed and static representation. As such, his art aims to move beyond the establishment of a mere likeness to a subject and instead focuses on both the vitality and the representation of the inner self that is hinted at.
Often working on a large scale, Paul Wright holds fluidity at the heart of his work. Working with immediacy and firm decision making, the fluency of his style is clearly visible in the impressive results brought to life by a vivid palette. The spaces the subjects inhabit are often indeterminate, providing an atmosphere that allows for ambiguity and freedom of expression. This also offers a freedom of interpretation on the part of the viewer; an essential element of any art form.
Forest Gallery are proud to represent Paul Wright and these stunning studio editions, full of hand-embellished detail by Paul to bring an individuality to each piece.
